Liverpool vs Man city (Manchester City vs Liverpool)
Manchester City Play midfielder Rodri will not given up to win the Premier League title regardless of losing 3-1 during the match of Liverpool vs Man city. And this makes ‘Red’ fault to maintain their last season record.
The victory at Anfield has given Liverpool a nine-point lead over M-City, a team they have seen as their long-term rivals. Many feel that City is facing a tough task to retain the title but they have faced similar situations last season.
Although Rodri was not with the club at the time, the Spaniard knew how City would rise from seven points behind The Reds to lift their second consecutive league trophy for the 2018-19 season.
Asked if the defeat at Anfield ended City’s chances of winning the league title,
Rodri told reporters: “Absolutely not. The team has proven this many times before.
“Our team has won the English Premier League for two consecutive seasons and it is no coincidence. The team has been honored and considered for the league trophy.
“Last season, City lost seven points behind – and it could have been 10 if they lost in the
January meeting – but ultimately won the league.
“We are in November. There are still a lot of games going on. Liverpool are very strong right now and they are doing everything right. See you in the future.” Liverpool vs Man city
Rodri also thinks Liverpool are lucky to have three points in action on Saturday and City are a still better team in the season.
“They’re sharper than we are, I think that’s a key factor. I think we’re better overall,” he added.
“We created more chances but they came in front of the goal three times and scored three goals.”
City’s left-back Angelino, who shines in his first appearance in the Premier League title,
regretted City’s loss to take every opportunity, saying the 3-1 defeat was too cruel for the defending champion.
“I think so,” he said when asked if City should make better decisions.
“We created many opportunities to compete again but unfortunately we failed to use them.
“We played well, we have more chances, but we missed three chances for Liverpool but faced teams like them, if given the opportunity, they would use it.
“I think the whole team is fighting to the end. We give it our all and if we continue to play at Anfield, we will achieve great things.”
